About
MISSION
The Association is first and foremost a community that celebrates the historic achievements of New York City’s founders and the on-going contributions of the social and professional elements that define America’s greatest immigrant gateway. The Association serves the people of New York as an educational resource and welcomes all residents and visitors into our community of volunteers.
The Association was established in 2014 and is classified as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

President
Ambrose Madison Richardson was born in Chicago, grew up in Illinois, and graduated from Harvard College and Law School. He finished reading all 166 Landmark Books before the age of 12, and later learned that some of his ancestors took part in the events he read about it. He is a past president of the Sons of the Revolution in the State of New York, past president of the Waterside Tenants Association, currently president of the Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York and General Secretary of the General Society of the Sons of the Revolution, and a former Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 7 in Champaign, IL. He began practicing law in 1969 next door to the NYSE, and currently practices law on Wall St. in the areas of business, property, and estates, and related litigation.

Abby Suckle is President of cultureNOW which is dedicated to arts education and cultural tourism. Its Lower Manhattan Then and NOW Map was completed in 2016. She is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and has an architectural practice in New York. Her most recent book is Cocktails & Conversations: Dialogues on Architectural Design, published in 2018.

Peter Feinman received his B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania, a M.Ed. from New York University, an MBA from New York University, and an Ed. D. from Columbia University. He is the founder of the Institute of History, Archaeology, and Education. His interests cross disciplinary boundaries including American history, ancient civilizations, biblical history, and New York history. He is the president of the Westchester Society of the Archaeological Institute of America and the Vice President of the American Research Center in Egypt, New York Society. He advocates for the importance of local and state history in the curriculum, community, and tourism and is the author of blogs on The State of State History and The State of American Civics. He is a contributor to the recent book Five Views of the Exodus (Zondervan, April 2021). His new book is The Exodus: An Egyptian Story (Oxbow, November 2021).

John Herzog spent his active business career at Herzog Heine Geduld, Inc., which was founded in 1926 by his father. He spearheaded its expansion into the third-largest NASDAQ market maker in the nation. He retired as Chairman Emeritus when Merrill Lynch acquired the firm in 2000. This story is told in the book “A Billion to One” published by the Museum of American Finance in 2017.
Mr. Herzog is formerly Chairman of R.M. Smythe & Co., specializing in antique stocks and bonds, banknotes, autographs and photographs. In 1988, Mr. Herzog founded the Museum of American Finance, donating part of his collection of financial memorabilia to the Museum. He is now Chairman Emeritus. The Museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. He is on the Board of the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society, and a Trustee Emeritus of Randolph College, Lynchburg, VA, He is a holder of the Ellis Island Medal.

Catherine McVay Hughes is a member of the Board of Directors for Battery Park City Authority, Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, South Street Seaport Museum, NYC’s Climate Coalition for the Seaport-Financial District, Financial District Neighborhood Association, CERES Presidents Council, Princeton Climate Institute, Storm Surge Working Group and the External Committee for Princeton University School of Engineering and Applied Science Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. She served as Chair of Manhattan Community Board 1 and its World Trade Center Redevelopment Committee.

Milman was Chief of Staff of the 9 FA Veteran Corps of Artillery-State of New York He was the VCA -SNY liaison officer with the United States Army at the Pentagon, with CENTCOM and with the Joint Military Public Affairs Office in New York City for the 2000 Millennium Celebration for which he has been decorated with the Army Commander’s Award for Public Service.
